Psalms 55:12-14 (NIV) says: If an enemy were insulting me, I could endure it; if a foe (or a competitor) were raising himself against me, I could hide from him (13) But it is you, a man like myself, my companion, my close friend (14) With whom I once enjoyed sweet fellowship as we walked with the throng (the congregate) at the house of God.
Being offended is an impurity that destroys all human relationships. When we are caught in the clutches of offense, we become resentful by perceiving everything from a wrong point of view and we then have a tendency to build walls around ourselves.
Some of the reasons why people become offended are:
- Expectations aren’t met;
- A wrong belief system; and
- Misunderstanding.
In this message series, Pastor Randy Morrison discusses reasons why we get offended and how to overcome offenses in our lives.
